The challenge 

Unleashed required assistance to enable it to launch its You Unleashed solution, a type of psychometric assessment that examines personal style, aptitudes, and abilities in a single test to help drive performance. 

Unleashed CEO and founder Martin Mason has said of the challenge that led his company to approach Evolve Assess: “I had done quite a bit of research… I’d got an idea of what I wanted to do for a while around You Unleashed, and me and Michael [Lucas, Director of Learning & Development at Unleashed] had sat down and worked out what we wanted.

“I’d looked at all kinds of different things and different solutions, to work out what was going to be the best possible solution for us to keep it in-house.”

The solution


Prior to being introduced to Evolve Assess through business psychology consultancy Sten10, Unleashed CEO and founder Martin Mason admitted that he “didn’t actually think anything like Evolve Assess’s service existed, because it is so niche.” 

Martin was also surprised by the affordability of that service; in his initial conversations with us, he had imagined that “this is like when you get shown the diamond ring at Tiffany’s – it’s gonna be, ‘this is an amazing platform, but it costs four billion pounds’.”


Instead, the “price point” turned out to be a “reasonable” one – although cost was far from the only priority for Martin, who said “the key thing that worked for us was that it was an ‘out of the box’ solution that delivered our product in the way we wanted it delivered.” 

Martin added: “I’ve come across it before, where we’ve found really great tech solutions, but the people to deal with, or the service around it is just so bad, it makes it almost painful.”

The results


“It just felt really easy to do business with you,” Martin recalled. He added that even in the early stages of Unleashed’s relationship with Evolve Assess, “you would always talk to us on a level where you weren’t patronising in any way. It was just a really nice, pleasant service, which is why I would recommend you to everyone.” 

Evolve Assess, he said, felt “like an extension” of Unleashed’s own team, to the extent that he momentarily forgot we were a technically a supplier of his, rather than a partner. 

Three words from Martin to sum up Evolve Assess? “Reliable, innovative… and fabulous”. We won’t argue with that…

The working relationship with Evolve Assess proved “just effortless – we’d only been working together for five minutes, and it felt like I’d known you for ages. I could just pick up the phone and have a chat. There was no drama, no hassle, it was just right.”
